Altho Dr. Kumar couldn't know this, I developed an infection while visiting Italy some months ago: (mycobacterium chelonae), for which there are only 2 antibiotics which work: clarithromycin and linezolid. After Dr. Kumar's message, I contacted my infectious disease doctor who said that Peripheral neuropathy is a rare but possible side effect of using linezolid. He took me off of the linezolid immediately, but doesn't know if the neuropathy can be reversed. Thank you.
