Thank you very much for your comments. I was not aware of limiting meat in my diet but I will do that. I was wondering about the supplements that I take and feel tumeric is not a concern since it is such a common herb in Indian and other diets. Not sure what you meant by saying that NAC is sometimes used as an allopathic med - do you think I should avoid it? My blood pressure is usually about 148/80 with taking Benicar 40 mg daily. I took norvasc (?)for a few months while I was in the hospital and at home recovering from knee replacement. That was recommended by the hospital doctor but then when I went to my family doctor, he told me that Benicar was better for me. Perhaps I should be taking another BP med since my BP is usually about 150/80.
