Hello Mr. XXXXXXX
If the stools are not watery and yellowish in colour, then the stools are normal.
Regarding the frequency of 8-11 times per day also, it is normal. This happens because of a reflex in small infants called gastrocolic reflex by which the babies pass a stool when the baby just starts to take a feed.
As the child grows this pattern will improve.
You can get assurance that your baby is normal from
1-noting the weight gain of the baby
2-baby sleeping normally for 1-2 hrs after the feed
3-no abnormal cry
Hope this satisfies your concern!

Hi Mr XXXXXXX
Thanks for the details.
Gastro colic reflex usually persists for 6-8 months.
The watery stools in your baby following cold are abnormal.
This is mostly due to viral infection which caused both the cold and watery stools.
The cold medicine is ok.
For the watery stools, give some oral electrolytes .
This is available in sachets with instructions printed.
Mix the powder in clean water and give 1 oz after every watery stool.
Observe the urine output.
Check the watery stools for reducing substance in the laboratory. If negative, there is no need to change the milk. If positive, you have to start lactose free milk.
Kindly get in touch with your pediatrician again and let him assess the child.
Good luck
God bless
