Ankles Is Swollen, No Pain And Discolouration. What Could Be The Cause?

Thank you for the query.
One side swollen ankle indicates venous issue. Veins have a very hard work to do. It is because blood needs to flow against the gravity. And it is pretty far from your foot to your heart. Try to imagine how hard this blood needs to be pushed to get back to the heart. To make it possible, veins has valves which prevents blood from receding. Calf muscle helps pump the blood.
When the valves get damaged (due to smoking, long standing or due to unknown reason), the blood can not flow freely and remains in the veins. This causes increased blood pressure in the vein. This pressure pushes water out from the vein to the tissues. So the tissues get swollen. When you stand a lot, swelling can get bigger.
As swelling is nothing serious, veins problem can also lead to veins thrombosis. And this might be very serious condition.
I suggest you to visit your doctor and have Dopplers ultrasound of your veins. In case of insufficiency surgery can be done to remove wrong working veins.
In a meanwhile try to move your calf muscle from time to time when standing.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
