Are NovoRapid Insulin And H Actrapid Insulin The Same?
Question: i am having gestational diabetes, currently I am 25 weeks pregnant. now I am using XXXXXXX rapid insulin with dose 12-10-8. but doctor prescribed inj H Actrapid insulin. We bought XXXXXXX rapid insulin and I used it for 27 days. From tomorrow onwards I am going to use inj H Actrapid insulin. whether both insulin are same or its different insulin? if it is different will it have side effects? Please clarify my doubt.
Brief Answer:
Both are almost same.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! XXXXXXX rapid is analogue of human insulin and human actrapid is human insulin, identical
to human insulin. XXXXXXX rapid is better than human actrapid because it can control sugar better, no day to day variation is there but it is not identical to human insulin.
So your doctor give human insulin for safety purpose during pregnancy to reduce its side
effects.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.
Good luck.
Regards
