Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Let me explain.
She is missing her periods due to hormonal imbalance.
Whenever she misses her period , she is being given progesterone to induce a withdrawal bleed.
When she is given progesterone for 5 - 7 days, the lining of the uterus builds up.
ANd then when it is stopped abruptly, it sheds - this is called progesterone withdrawal bleed.
Both Meprate and Regestrone are progesterone preparations.
There is virtually no difference between them.
The mechanism of action is the same.
The dosage is dictated by the body weight of the patient .
WHat is your daughter's height and weight ?
Generally both tablets are given in the dosage of 5 mg twice a day, for atleast 5 days.
Did you get those tests done by the way ?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.
