Are Whey Protein Advisable After Starting Exercises?

Question: I am 56 and weighs 77kgs.I just started working on building my muscles( in the gym) 2 months ago.I started taking whey protein one scoop after work out in the morning and one scoop at evening.Is there any risk lies concerned with liver and kidney as i have been reading on internet?

Since whey protein powders are for the body growth,then I would suggest you to take it without artificial sweeteners like Iso-natural or hardcore whey.

They are comparatively safe provided that you do not have any past liver or kidney disease. However,you also check your liver and kidney function tests in the lab,if not done earlier.

Also,I would like to know which whey protein you are using right now. We would discuss it further.

Welcome again and thanks for the more information,

I have gone through the image that you attached.

It is a Whey protein isolate and there is NO harm in taking especially of some reputed brands.

In addition to the whey protein powders (isolates),following dietary tips will also be helpful to gain some weight.

But remember that weight gain process should always be gradual,so be patient and do not be in hurry.

1) Eat high calorie, high protein diet. Do not increase the intake of junk foods and greasy foods.

2) Eat healthy fats like omega-3 essential fatty acids sources like salmon or walnuts.

3) Eat good protein rich foods like lean meats, fish, poultry, egg white nuts, seeds, pulses and legumes.

4) Eat healthy carbohydrates like fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

5) Drink a lot of fluids that supply nutrients and calories like milk, fresh fruit juice and energy drinks.

6) Have eggs for breakfast. Custard is good for putting on healthy weight. Eat bananas and sapota milkshakes.

You can take daily 2 boiled eggs in which egg white portion is a good source of protein and egg yellow or egg yolk is a rich source of fats and omega-3 fatty acids which will help you to gain weight.

I would further advise you to take fruits and green leafy vegetables also because they are having nutrients like vitamins and minerals which is equally necessary for our health.
