Hello,
Your CT scan report shows left
hepatic cyst. You are under treatment by your doctor. You have history of having
sinus infection and upper bacterial infection 2 weeks ago, you have been treated with
Amoxicillin and Levaquin. Presently, you are experiencing belching, burping,
acid reflux and are taking Nexium. You have been coughing and hence, are on prescription medicine, Levaquin of your treating doctor for nine days.
You are suggested to stop taking Levaquin since you have hepatic cyst after consultation with your doctor. Levaquin may trigger liver problems like belching, burping, acid reflux, upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), etc. These are the side effects of Levaquin. You should take boiled food with a dash of olive oil for a couple of month. Do not take oily, spicy, fried food for a couple of months.
Avoid packaged food, red meat, full fat dairy products,
trans fat, etc. You can take Nexium (
proton pump inhibitors), one SOS when needed for relieve. To get rid of symptoms of
liver cyst, you are suggested to quit addictions (alcohol, smoking, drugs, etc). Take food good for the liver. Take liver tonics, liv-52, etc. Take fruits, berries. Stay active and cheerful. Always take boiled water after cooling. After 45 days of strict boiled food healthy, balanced diet you can get repeat CT or liver function tests done. It will show better reports.
Liver cyst that cause no symptoms require no treatment. However, since hepatic cyst has been detected, get biopsy done to rule out malignancy.
Surgical removal is done laparoscopically only when symptoms are there. When part of the cyst wall is removed, there is little chance of cyst recurrence. Removing fluid from the cyst can be done, but may not be that effective because the cyst just fills back up again.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
