Are Diarrhea And Gastric-like Symptoms Signs Of Possible Exposure To HIV?
Question: Hi doctor, I had a possible hiv exposure with a CSW 7 weeks ago (Condom slippage). I had taken PEP meds on the 28th hour. I was tested negative on the 4th week marks. On the end of 5th week, I started to have diarrhea, gastric-like symptoms till today. May I know this the 5th week diarrhea possible to related to hiv?
Thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
Not typical
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is not typical sign of acute retroviral infection so I don't think this indicates HIV infection especially if tests were negative. You can treat this as any other diarrhea.
Wish you good health. Regards
