Are Genital Warts Symptom Of STD?
Question: Hi,
I think I have an STD, but none of my research has helped.
I have these wart like bumps. They are very small and at first I thought they were pimples. They are sometimes itchy, but not all the time. There is no pain whatsoever, but they do bleed occasionally. It seems to be getting worse.
Please help.
Thanks,
XXXX
Brief Answer:
STD
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
Thanks for uploading photographs. Your doubt seems to be correct. It is an STD. What you are having is called Genital warts caused by Human papilloma virus.
Please rule out other sexually transmitted infections like HIV, Hepatitis B and syphilis by doing HIV Elisa, HBsAg and VDRL test. There are a lot of treatment options and you need to see a dermatologist for treatment. I will recommend cryotherapy if facility is available every 2-3 weeks till all lesions are gone. Avoid sexual contact till you are clear of lesions. Podophyllin resin paint application by doctor every week is also a good alternative.
Hope this helped,
Take care.
