Are Irregular Heart Beats, Lightheadedness And Fatigue Signs Of Afib?

I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
I would explain that there are different types of cardiac arrhythmia that can lead to this clinical scenario.
From the other at your age, with a normal structure and function some ectopic heart beats, especially during physical activity or anxiety are quite normal.
Anyway, if the problem persists, I would recommend performing some tests to investigate for possible cardiac arrhythmia:
- an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring to examine your heart rhythm trends for a prolonged time (a resting ECG is performed in a very short period, unable to catch ectopic heart beats most of the time)
- thyroid hormone levels (thyroid dysfunction can lead to this clinical scenario)
- complete blood count for anemia, which is the most common cause of palpitations
- blood electrolytes for possible electrolyte dysfunction.
If all these tests result normal, there is nothing to worry about. In such case, you should consider anxiety as the main cause of your symptoms.
Hope to have been helpful!

Dr. Iliri
