Are Low Testosterone Levels And Testicular Pain A Cause For Concern?
I recommend performing some tests to establish the possible cause:
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that it may be related to orchioepididymitis, which is an inflammation of the testicles.
There are different causes of low testosterone like : a testicles inflammation or infection, liver and kidney failure, chronic obstructive lung disease, heart failure, testicular trauma, HIV, autoimmune disorders, metabolic disorders, diabetes, etc.
Low testosterone levels can lead to low libido and sexual dysfunction, chronic fatigue, low muscular force and tone, mood changes, etc.
But the most important thing in your situation is to find the possible cause and the proper therapy.
The pain in your left testicle is another indicator for inflammation or infection.
I recommend consulting with the urologist, for a careful physical examination, a routine blood test, inflammation tests (fibrinogen, PCR, sedimentation), kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, blood sugar and a testicular ultrasound to find the possible cause.
Lisinopril can also lower blood testosterone levels, but the other causes should be excluded before taking into consideration to switch into another drug for high blood pressure.
Hope to have been of help!
Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!
Best wishes,
Dr. Iliri
