What if the our macrophage could not engulf or eat the wood particle which being stuck in the layer of endocardium..and inflammation doesn't finished and continue... do you thnik what happen after 1yr and could we know easily at that time(eventhough that particle is very small? )this is my only optional thinking...if it is not possible... or inflammation doesn't finished and big problem happen.. I could finish my imagination....

1. yes, this is possible in patients who are immunocomprmised as we see in AIDS, thrombocytopenia, hematologic diseases, immunodwficciencies etc. in their cases, immune system would not be reactive and inflammatory process wont take place.
this could lead to delayed complications related to foreign body in our body.
2. macrophages would be ineffective in patients that i ve mentioned above. in healthy people, inflammation should occur soon after detection of foreign body and this is from few hours to few days. such long delayed complication after 1 year isnt possible in healthy people. any foreign body cant be in our organisms without reaction of our white blood cells. this particle cant cause damage later in life, since it would be neutralised by immune system and enzymes. first,all bacterias that conaminated this particle would be killed,second wood would be dissolved.any mechanical damage to endocardium would happen right after incident. i hope i understood your question. feel free to ask.
