Are People Able To Work And Maintain A Normal Life While Having Chemo And Radiation?
Question: Are people able to work and maintain a "normal" life while get chemo and radiation?
Brief Answer:
yes, some are able to
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
It depends upon the type of chemo and radiotherapy and the tolerance of the patient. But it is a fact that many patients are able to continue their normal routine during treatment.
You have not described your condition in this query but from your other questions I understand that you have not yet been diagnosed with cancer. Even if it is, chances of needing chemo and radiotherapy are low in your case.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes it is true i haven't be diagnosed with cancer yet. I see the oncologist tomorrow to find out if the mass is cancer or not. I have been warned that location of the mass, it may not be able to do a biiosy one. The mass is 7mm and is locationg behind my bladder pushing on it and cause a lot of symptoms.
Brief Answer:
symptoms may not be due to the tumor
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for reverting.
A 7 mm mass behind bladder will not cause pain and certainly not bleeding in urine. Has somebody ruled out urinary tract infection in you?
If it is in the bladder wall, then it can cause bleeding. In that case biopsy can easily be done by putting a telescopic instrument in bladder (cystoscopy).
Please let me know the final opinion of the doctor.

Yes at one point a few weeks ago i did have a really bad UTI to the point i needed IV antibiotics because everyone kept ignoring it. I have had two or three cultures since and they come back clean.
I have had a cystoscopy done by the urologist who saw the mass and says it is the size of a plum, pushing up on the bladder, he said that was why i had all of these symptoms.
He has sent me to see an oncologist to do the biopsy and treat from there if it is malignant and if not then he will treat me i guess.
I see the oncologist for the first time today.

Brief Answer:
is the size bigger
Detailed Answer:
There is a lot of difference between 7 mm and size of plum. Is it 7 cm?
I am unable to correlate. If it is outside the bladder and the gynecologist cannot do the biopsy then the only option will be to do CT guided biopsy. If that is also not feasible then laparoscopy can be done.

It is 7mm. I saw the oncologist and he doesnt see or could feel the mass that the urologist saw. He did a uterine scrapping as well as a full pap smear and internal exam. He did find a tumor in my ovary and he is going to go in and remove my ovary and fallopian tube. While in there he is going to look around for the mass, he says my bladder, uterus and colon are right on top of each other so he will find the mass if there is one and he said he would remove it. I had a ton of blood work done one which was the CEA 125. Thats all i know as of right now.
Brief Answer:
It seems that finally you are on the right track
Detailed Answer:
Now it looks like an ovarian tumor, which may still be benign and getting it out and submitting it for biopsy is the best option.
Please keep me informed

My cancer bloodworm all came back normal, i don't know if that automatically means i don't have a cancer tumor.
I will keep you updated.
I will keep you updated.
Brief Answer:
yes that is good
Detailed Answer:
Though this doesn't mean that you can't have cancer at all, the probability is certainly reduced.
All the best.
