Are Post-menopausal Bleeding And Cramping Signs Of Cancer?
Question: I am a 54 year old white female, 6 years postmenopausal... started bleeding and cramping 1 week ago today. Saw doctor who tried to do in office biopsy but couldn't complete... sent me for internal soon which showed a 2 cm fibroid and an endomentium thickness of 15mm. I feel bloated and can't stand pressure on my abdomen (even seatbelt is annoying). Dr called the next day and told me to come back in immediately for biopsy which i did. This time the biopsy was performed. He told me it was sent out as URGENT. This was on Wednesday... I am very nervous because of what I have read and the fact that the dr and his nurses were so quick to get everything done... no offense but i have never had a doctor or any specialty move so quickly... I am now on pins and needles and can't sleep waiting for results... can you give me some idea of what the odds are that i have cancer? Thank you
Brief Answer:
The possibility of cancer is also there.
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
Postmenopausal bleeding always needs evaluation because sometimes it maybe concerous also.
In your case cause of bleeding could be due to fibroid, adenomyosis and endometrial hyperplasia or carcinoma.
But please do not take any stress and wait for your biopsy report.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
