Are Recurring Pain In Back, Pelvic Area And Nausea Signs Of Ovarian Cancer?

Question: I am still concerned about ovarian cancer I have severe back and pelvic pain off and on and also nausea ... I had Transvag ultrasound 5 months ago , and a pelvic exam 2 weeks ago along with a cut scan ... All were normal. My dr put me on 10 days of estrogen which I finished about a week ago and no period ... I thought maybe my nausea is due to perhaps the estrogen , but still think that maybe ovarian cancer was missed .. Dr thinks it's periomenopause related ... Should I get more tests
Sorry ct scan
Could it have been missed I just don't feel well so I am worried that they missed something

Detailed Answer:
Hello & thank you for submitting your question to HCM.
I can understand your feelings of concern. The symptoms you describe, in conjunction with no findings on sensitive imaging modalities and physical examination, sound indeed very consistent with peri menopause. Hormonal therapy can, as you correctly suggest, cause nausea. Ovarian cancer may present with obvious symptoms such as lower abdomen bloating or pelvic pain. It may also be more insidious. Regular check ups by your physician should help with screening/detection and will also hopefully ease your mind.
Sincerely,
Dr Galamaga

So are you saying that you think that I should have more tears or the ct scan and vaginal ultrasound were enough. Thank you
Oops tests

Brief Answer:
Follow up
Detailed Answer:
I think at this time, unless you have a strong family history or proven genetic succeptibility for ovarian cancer, the tests which were run are sufficient. Further testing at this time seems unlikely to be warranted. If you develop new symptoms, please do not hesitate to being them to the attention of your physician who may re assess the need for further testing.
Sincerely,
Dr Galamaga
