Are Sore Throat And Leg Cramps Normal After Administering Anesthetic Injections?
Question: I had dental treatment earlier today, requiring anesthetic injections. I felt the usual numbness at the time, also has some tingling and aching in my legs and felt cold. I sat for a while following the treatment I felt ok but still had the symptoms. As the day has gone on and the numbness in my mouth has worn off, the cold feeling I had (although I'm told I'm warm to touch) and the leg aching is still there. My throat is now feeling sore, i'm developing a dry cough and have stiffness in my head and back. I'd describe it as feeling fluish. I have never had dental work done before, is this a normal reaction to the anesthetic injection?Tthanks
Brief Answer:
normal reaction of anesthetic injection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, all your symptoms can be because of 2 reasons --
1. Anaesthesia side effects, as adrenaline is used along with local anaesthetic drug like xylocaine this cause vasoconstriction leading to neck pain leg cramps etc. .
2. Dental treatment it self can cause this type of symptoms. Emperically you can take anti inflammatory medicines like Paracetamol 500 mg + Diclofenac 50 mg combination twice daily after food for 2 days and observe. Adequate hydration is needed.
