White spot on the tongue can be many things like candidiasis, leukoplakia , oral lichen planus, apthous ulceration and many other.
Most common cause in your case could be traumatic ulcer (due to dentures) or candidiasis.
Consult an ENT specialist at the earliest for the feeling of choke up of throat.
I would like to few more things as this will help me in suggesting you better:
1. Is her denture ill fitting loose?
2. Are the white lesions painful/symptomatic?
Oral candidiasis can get wiped off and may lead to slight bleeding(as described by you).
The following measures can help you:
1. Use clotrimazole oral paint twice daily.
2. Ask her to maintain good oral /dental hygiene.
3. Betadine mouth wash twice daily would help.
Go to Emergency dept for throat complaints if they are getting severe.

Canker sores are a common form of mouth ulcer(Apthous ulcer). They may occur with viral infections. In some cases, the cause cannot be determined.
You can use triamcinolone mouth gel on ulcer if they are painful.
Get her examined for throat pain.
