Are There Any Side Effects Of Using Lactare By A Lactating Mother?
Proper breast feeding technique and expressing breast milk is better
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Breast milk is produced in response to the hunger of the baby which is manifested through its suck. The hungrier the baby, more it sucks. The more is the suckling, the more breast milk is produced. If the demand is met with external milk, the baby will no longer suck that much and the breast milk production will fall. So, this factor needs to be managed first in order to increase the breast milk production.
Lactare granules contain a number of herbs, primarily Fenugreek. These have been used for centuries. I do not think that you need to worry about side effects while using it. However, based on more recent data there is no evidence that these agents are more effective than interventions focused upon increasing the frequency of breastfeeding and improving breastfeeding technique. The primary intervention depends upon the cause but most often involves increasing the effectiveness and frequency of breastfeeding. So, I would emphasize on this fact rather than trying such supplements.
Use of breast pumps or manual hand expression especially after a feeding increases stimulation and emptying of the breast, thereby enhancing milk production similar to that due to the child's suck. So if you have access to a pump, it might be helpful to make this a part of the feeding and after the baby has finished feeding, you use the pump to empty the breast fully.
Hope that helps.
