Baby Passing Stools Frequently After Taking Vaccination. What Is The Cure?
Question: my 2 month old baby struggles and strains a lot to pass stools but fails mostly for the past week. But when he passes stools.. they are soft. He used to go 4 to 5 times per day very easily prior to it. This problem started from the day he received his vaccinations(rotavirus,hep.b,pentaxim). Its more than 48 hrs now and he is struggling day and night. He is losing his sleep too. What should i do ? Also has it got anything to do with the rotavirus vaccine ? please help.
Brief Answer:
Not related to vaccines,
Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear
Probably the symptoms are not related with first dose of vaccines the child has received.
Child do develop lot of infantile colics/gripping and gases (many times attributed to top feeds). These minor problems can be easily tackled by some Anticolics and flatulant drugs like Colicaid /Neopeptine drops 6 to 8 drops three times a day.
Child agony further may be increasing because of some body aches and malaise which is quite common in this changing season. Please do add some paracetamol drops 10 to 12 drops six hourly after feeds.
Hope these measures will relieve the agony of your child.
Please feel free for more clarification.
Thanks

Respiratory tract infection with malaise

hi
Please continue pouring saline drops.
Do not do much suction. may irritate mucosa.
Some antihistaminic drops like t minic drops may help in clearing of secretion along with some steam inhalation.
But if the child develops cough then please contact your Pediatrician for further evaluation.
