Back Pain, Pins & Needles Sensation On Back, Shoulder, Arms & Legs, Have Allergy. Which Specialist Should I See?
Question: hi doctor, i have been experiencing upper backpain most of the time, sometimes it hurts a lot that i couldnt move my arms... a massage only eases the pain for a day... i am also experiencing this needles and pins sensation on my back, shoulder, stomach, arms and legs, most especially when the temparature is high, after taking a bath and after an exercise... i also dont sweat a lot... i have been experiencing for years and i dont know whats going on with me and what doctor to see,,, i have allergies too, and my allergies evolves from time to time....

Pain in the upper part of back with pain in arms and pins and needles sensations in the body could be due to-
• Nerve root syndromes- produce symptoms of nerve impingement (a nerve is directly irritated): Herniated discs, Spondylosis and Spinal disc degeneration
• Musculoskeletal pain syndromes- myofascial pain syndromes and fibromyalgia.
• Infections of the bones: Bacterial and spinal Tuberculosis
• Noninfectious inflammation of the spine (spondylitis) can cause stiffness and pain in the spine that is particularly worse in the morning
You need to consult an orthopedician for investigations like MRI of spine and further treatment.
In the meanwhile, adequate rest, hot compresses, good analgesic medications and avoiding strenuous exercises will benefit you.
Taking multivitamin supplements will reduce the symptoms of pins and needles sensations.
