Hi

Thanks for query.

First of all your son has to undergo a detailed evaluation by an ENT specialist. Chronic sinusitis, rhinitis may lead to such scenario. An x-ray paranasal sinuses needs to be done in this respect. Detailed examination by anterior rhinoscopy, sinoscopy should be done. Laryngoscopy to be done to exclude upper airway congestion, polyp etc that may cause bleeding.

Again as there is bleeding from more than one site systemic causes like bleeding disorders and systemic vasculitis need to be excluded. P-time estimation, aPTT, TT, platelet count, serum c-ANCA estimations are to be done. Ophthalmological evaluation also needs to be done to exclude eye causes. Another important cause i.e. hereditary haemorrhagic telengiectasia needs to be excluded for that haemorrhagic spots all over the mucous membrane has to be searched.

So please do consult an ENT specialist and get examined locally for proper evaluation of your son's disease.

If you want to know further please write me back.

God bless you.
