Brief Answer:
Side effects reduce over few days.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have gone through your query in detail and noticed that you had problem with alendronate. I would like to state:
1. These effects of alendronate are only for a few days. After few days the side effects reduce and eventually stop.
2. There are other and equally good medicines available that can be taken once a week or even once a month. I normally prescribe medicine to be once every month.
3. Back pain is not directly related to osteoporosis- but improvement in bone density helps in long term prognosis.
I hope to have been hopeful. Please feel free to ask any other question.
