Can Amitriptyline And Phenergan Be Taken Together?
Question: can amitriptylines be mixed with phenergan
Brief Answer:
If possible should be avoided
Detailed Answer:
Hello Thanks for asking from HCM
Phenargan (promethagine) causes sedation and amitriptyline also causes sedation. If both drugs are used together then severe sedation and drowsiness are seen.
Also use of phenargan with amitriptyline will increase the risk of its anti-cholinergic side effects as drowsiness, giddiness, blurred vision, constipation, dry mouth symptoms.
As per my opinion the drugs should not be mixed together or should be used with caution in low doses only.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
