Can Ascoril Be Taken For Cold?
you may take Syp. Ascoril if you have cold
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query,
Yes you may take Syp. Ascoril if you have cough, chest congestion, thick mucous secretion, or generally speaking respiratory tract diseases.
Different varieties of Ascoril syrups are available over the counter. It would be better to use them according to your symptoms.
If you have a cold along with dry cough, you may go for Syp. Ascoril- D. Nevertheless, I would ask you to aware of the side effects like tremors which some patients have reported commonly, nausea and vomiting.
In that case, I would suggest you to take Syp. TUS Q- D
Hope I have answered to your query

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for your follow up query,
I am indeed sorry for my delay in replying,
Its good to hear that all your symptoms have subsided except for a mild throat pain. The sore throat you are experiencing is probably a consequence of the irritation caused in the pharynx due to coughing. A few measures are enough for it to get resolved.
I would suggest you to-
- consider using a BETADINE gargle which is available OTC. I usually prescribe it for my patients and it really does give a good relief fast. Or you may also do warm saline water gargle where salt acts in soothing the inflammation.
- also steam inhalation twice a day will help in preventing the drying of the airway which will again exacerbate the sore throat.
- drink warm water
- may also consider any cough lozenges available OTC like Strepsils, Vicks.
Hoping I was able to answer to your query,
Please feel free to discuss further if any, or kindly accept.
Thanks,
Best wishes
