Question: I have been prescribed augmentin as a continuing med following an atypical pneumonia. In reading about augmenting I am concerned about reactions including GBS. Is GBS a concern in this situations?

I have read your query and understand your oncern.
AUGMENTIN is a very widely prescribed antibiotic and in general it results in mostly gastrointestinal side effects like nausea,bloating,diarrhoea and skin side effects like rash and itching.
As far as GBS ( guillain barre syndrome ) is concerned ( if this is what you mean ),it is very very rare. It was reported in dec 2016,that only 1 out of 23817 people taking AUGMENTIN developed GBS. Hence don't worry about it.
There is nothing to worry regarding side effects of AUGMENTIN and you must continue your antibiotic without fear.
