There can be various reasons for your baby's cry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM
I understand your concerns but don't worry. Newborns cry for various reasons which needs to be well understood and taken care of to keep them calm and happy. Your baby may be crying due to: hunger, wet diapers, tight clothes or diapers, too hot or too cold environmental temperature, need for comfort, sleep, inadequate burping after feeds or some pathological cause.
You may try following to help her out:
1. Try exclusive breast feeding as it's better tolerated by baby and easily digestible. Give both fore milk and hind milk to satisfy her completely. So, feed from one side completely before you change to other. If baby sleeps immediately at feed, then stimulate by flickering her sole or ears softly. Go for on demand feeding.
2. Burp your baby properly in mid feed and after feed for atleast 2-3 minutes. This will help in avoiding any colicky pains and there won't be any need for bonnisan thereafter.
3. Take care of diapers to avoid any rashes. Regular change of wet diapers, exposure to air in between diaper change to avoid dampness and very thin layer of petroleum jelly application on diaper area will help avoid diaper rashes.
4. Keep room temperature in comfortable range and avoid over covering.
5. Gentle rocking, singing, light music in room may be soothing to her.
In case, she has any of the following signs and symptoms then visit your paediatrician for complete examination:
Not feeding well or lethargic, listless, crying continuously for more than 3 hours together, abnormal movements, fever, yellowish discolouration of skin.
Bonnisan drops may be given, it doesn't have any significant side effect but usually my patients follow the above and do not require them at all.
Hopefully this will be helpful as well. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
