Can Ciprofloxacin And Tinidazole Be Taken At High Altitudes?
Question: Hi Doctor, I am planning a road trip to Leh, Ladakh, during this September. My question is related to that.
But before that a brief background: I have a very sensitive digestive system. And since I am away from home mostly when an upset stomach hits me, my family doctor has prescribed a combination of ciprofloxacin+tinidazole whenever it gets too unmanageable. And it works immediately after the first dose but I complete the entire dosage (10 tablets) as he has advised me to do so, considering that it's a bacterial antibiotic. Except for a loss of taste in my mouth, I don't find any other side effects of using this medicine.
Coming to my question: At high altitudes, can I continue to use this medicine? Will there be any additional side effects? Kindly advise. Thank you.
