Can Clonazepam Be Taken Instead Of Alprazolam Without Any Side Effects?
Question: I have been taking Alprazolam for a couple of years for nerves. It has always been effective. My doctor has now switched me to Clonazepam 0.5mg.....I am afraid to try it as I read the side effects. Why would my Doctor make this swich bwhen I was doing so well on Alprazolam.

Alprazolam is rapid acting, more dependence producing and is less safer if we compare to Clonazepam. You are 84 years old and in my opinion Clonazepam is better drug for you than Alprazolam. Risk of accidental falls with Clonazepam are lesser than Alprazolam. So please don't remain anxious, the drug is a better choice for you.
