Can Duphaston Be Used To Abort Pregnancy?
Question: My wife has missed her periods; it has been 13 days. usually her menstrual cycle is once in 30 days and in some cases delayed by 2 days when she has a month that has had more active sexual intercourse. Will consuming duphastone restart her menstrual cycle and in the even she is pregnant will duphaston abort the pregnancy? Could you please advise? Thank you

Please get a urine pregnancy test with early morning urine sample to see for pregnancy before getting into any conclusion. if neg, you can take medroxyprogesterone twice daily for 5 days to get periods.Periods wllcome in 7 days after stoppage of medicines.If 2 lines appear it means your wife is pregnant..
Self treatment is not advisable.. First a scan has to be done to confirm intrauterine pregnancy and gestational age. Gestational age less than 7 weeks medical method is applicable. Always consult a doctor prior to taking these tablets as the have serious side effects which requires medical supervision..Once the 2nd dose of tablet is taken heavy bleeding with passage of clots occur. Complete abortion should be confirmed at the end of 14 days.

if she is +ve for pregnancy and she consumes duphastone or medroxyprogesterone, what would be the effect? Will duphastone retain and make the pregnancy stronger? She should take medical method to abort pregnancy within 49 days. It can cause heavy bleeding leading to giddiness, severe vomiting, abdominal cramps and retained products causing ongoing bleeding. Reaction varies from person to person.
