Can Flexon Be Taken For Tooth Infection While Breast Feeding?
Take single pain killer drug rather than taking combinations.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read through your query in detail and understood your confusion.
1) Flexon which contains paracetamol 500 mg with ibuprofen 400 mg,both having property of analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory.
Both paracetamol 500 mg with ibuprofen 400 mg are considered as a safe during lactation period in mothers. However, both this OTC medications can pass through breast milk but in such small amounts (like in micro mg) that infants aren't significantly affected.
2) Tablet enzoflam (paracetamol 325mg, diclofenac 50 mg, serratiopeptidase 15mg) is a combination of medications which act as pain killers (paracetamol and diclofenac) and for faster healing of inflammation (serratiopeptidase).
Taking the combination in Enzoflam is guarded during breast feeding mainly due to serratiopeptidase content.
This means although no serious effects have been found in babies whose mothers have been given Enzoflam during breast feeding, it would be best to avoid taking it.
As for pain killers your wife can take Paracetamol (Crocin) 500 mg every 8 hours after food depending on the reason for taking the medication.(available OTC)
Alternatively Diclofenac (available OTC) is also an accepted pain killer during breast feeding and that can also be taken 50 mg after food twice a day depending on your pain.
(Means no need to take combination drugs like Tab.flexon (paracetamol 500 mg with ibuprofen 400 mg) or Tab.Dan-p (paracetamol 500 mg with diclofenac 50 mg)
Although less than 1% of this medicines will reach to the baby which is acceptable in breast feeding.
Hope this detailed explanation will be helpful.
feel free to ask, if you have any doubt further.
