Question: I AM TAKING FLOMAX AS PRESCRIBED BY MY UROLOGIST. i AM 10 YEARS PAST PROSTATE SEED TREATMENT FOR CANCER. MY RECENT TESTS HAVE HAD A PSA OF 0.0. HE HAS SAID THAT FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES I DO NOT HAVE A PROSTATE. i HAVE BEEN TAKING T INJECTIONS FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS WITH FAVORABLE ERECTION RESULTS (.O75) EVERY 2 WEEKS. mY UROLOGIST PUT ME ON FLOMAX AS I REPORTED THAT URINATION FREQUENCY HAD INCREASED. hE IS OUT OF TOWN AND i WONDER IF i SHOULD STOP TAKING FLOMAX. XXXX

Based on your statement you have undergone seed treatment fo cancer of prostate and is now facing problem of increased frequency for urination since a month .and being prescribed Flomax once daily .

Flomax is a smooth muscle relaxant that relaxes smooth musclles in bladder neck and helps to improve urine flow .The frequency for urination that you have could be due to either UTI or post radiation stenosis and needs to be investigated .

You may stop taking Flomax and get investigated to find out the cause for frequency when you meet your urologist .
