Can Glutamine And Coumadin Be Taken Together?

Question: I am technically obese and have tried many programs. I just came across the subject of l glutamine use to curb surgar and carbohydrate cravings. I've used it for three days now and the results are remarkable: see book, The Diet Cure. I also take Coumadin and a whole load of other meds; I have A Fib and cardiomyopathy; never had a heart attack. and wonder if there is any contraindication in taking it. I can't find real conclusive answer on the net. My cardiologist says he doesn't know anything about "supplements".
Brief Answer:
not known to have interactions
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
L glutamine can help in the regulation of gastrointestinal cell growth, function and regeneration.
There are no known contraindications to the use of glutamine. It is not known to interact with traditional medications
It is broken down to glutamate and ammonia and these levels can increase if there is liver disease but this may not have significant effect.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thank you for your very prompt reply. One further question: I have been taking l Gluamine as a supplement in tablet form, 1000 mg each tab. I have taken about 2 or three of these in a day, spaced out and taken around the time I usually get an intense craving for sugar or carbohydrates. Do you think 1000 mgs per dose is too much?
Brief Answer:
dose is fine
Detailed Answer:
HI
No, this dose is fine. In some cases higher doses are used.
At 3 g (3000mg) a day, this is a good dose for you.
Please feel free to ask anything else
