Recovered Alcoholic, Bulimic, Fatty Liver, Pregnant, Nausea, Sickness, Heart Pain, Severe Liver Pain. Cause And Remedy?
I am a recovered alcoholic and bulimic, I have a fatty liver as a result. I am now 11 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from nausea and sickness. if I am sick it is followed by heart pain and severe liver pain, resulting in me needing to lie down until it passes. this is a great source of worry for me as I sometimes feel like I m about to have a heart attack and I am worried I have a diseased or failing liver. what is causing this pain? I am otherwise healthy and eat well.
Get investigations like ECG during pain, ultrasound of abdomen (liver and kidneys), LFTs, CBC. Mild to moderate epigastric discomfort is quite common in pregnancy and you might be aware of it. If all your investigation are nearly normal. Then you might be having panic attacks. Take benzodiazepines short acting like lorazepam for few days .also take Rabeprazole / Omeprazole for couple weeks as well.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Imranullah, Psychiatrist
