Can Glycomet Help Reduce Weight?
Question: Can glycomet help in reducing weight ? Can glycomet be taken just for losing weight or it has any side effects ?
Brief Answer:
not indicated for weight loss
Detailed Answer:
Hai,
Thanks for consulting us.
Glycomet is prescribed for diabetic patients to control blood sugar level. It also prescribed for poly cystic ovarian disease.
There is no direct indication for weight loss for glycomet.
It is not advised too.
For a Normal person if he takes glycomet it will further decrease sugar level in the body and leads to hypoglycemia..
Generally it is not advisable for exclusive weight loss.
Kindly get back to if there any query and clarification.

Or it will cause any side effects as now my weight is not reducing further it is still
Brief Answer:
faster weight loss is not good for health
Detailed Answer:
Hai,
It is unusual that glycomet is prescribed directly for weight loss.
Kindly check with your physician whether the prescribed drug is for any other underlying disease or abnormality and also clarify that why your physician withdrawn the drug and advised to continue with exercise and diet.
Glycomet (metformin) got many side effects but differs with individuals reaction and long duration of intake may cause health issues.
Kindly rule out the cause for your problem. your weight is not going down inspite of being under diet and exercise etc ..,you should visit your physician to fix the problem. In many hormonal dysfunction weight gain will be there.
Proper history and physical examination with sign and symptoms and required lab investigation may help in fix your problem.
Finally, don’t believe in any oral medication will reduce your weight significantly. Your physical effort and proper food advice and yoga may help.
depends on your Body mass Index and calorie need for the day you should plan the diet with the help of your nutritionist.
Kindly get back to me for further clarification.
