Can HIV Be Contracted Through Non-penetrative Sexual Activity?

Posted on Fri, 20 May 2016
Question: HI,
Today I went to massage parlour for body to body massage. Both of us are nude. And the massager is applying oil on my penis and giving me the masage by pressing and rubbing her labia against my penis glans for few minutes until i ejaculated. I believe my penis glans has been in contact with her vagina fluid. I was worry I might infected by HIV or other diseases. I confirmed there is no penetration taking place. Can anyone advise me the risk of me getting HIV?

Brief Answer:
Your risk for HIV is negligible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
All the girls working in massage parlor are not necessarily be HIV positive girls. They are also aware of their risk in their profession. They will take every precaution and periodic check ups.
Pressing the penis against labia has negligible risk without actual penetration. Penetration can lead to microscopic abrasions and increases the chances of exchange of body fluids whereas just pressing the glans against labia, the chances of abrasions and exchange of body fluids are very much less. Vaginal fluid are normally not felt outside the vagina (over the external genitals) unless the individual has some other std or vaginitis problem. So your risk is negligible only.

Thanks for the reply. I'm much relieve now.
By the way, if vaginal fluid not felt outside the vagina, then the wet that I felt from her vagina rubbing is? I mean if she cum, is there any chance her fluid that interacted with my penis glans will cause me been infected?

Brief Answer:
Contact with Wetness of vagina without penetration has negligible risk

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Just touching wetness from vagina over the penis without penetration has HIV risk negligible only as per CDC, XXXXXXX Vaginal penetrative sex has the risk of 5 per 10000 exposures. oral sex has still lower risk. All other activities other than infected blood transfusion, needle prick, anal sex, vaginal sex, oral sex (in this order), have negligible risk.
But instead of guessing the probablities, ruling out HIV by testing is the only way to assess the HIV status.

Hi, last question, even if she is rubbing her vagina on my penis for few minutes. With proper english i think is mutual masturbation or frottage. So her wetness or fluid that in contact with my penis will not post any hiv threat is it? Is it the virus at outside of host body is weaken?

Brief Answer:
Difficult to predict a definite answer. Probability can be discussed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
You had not rubbed into the vagina, only over labia majora. Am I correct (frottage)?. If this is so, chances for micro abrasions and exchange of body fluids are less likely. HIV infection through an intact skin is rare when compared with the abraded skin. So the risk of HIV transmission can be considered negligible. (not possible to say as nil). I hope that you understand the probability.
