Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi . I am 24-year-old female. Am suffering from vaginitis for the past 2 years. My primary doctor prescribed FAS 3 kit. now i took the noon dose (before lunch) and feeling like vomiting . As of my knowledge am not allergic to any medication. wat am i supposed to do now. I took the tablet at 1130.. should i wait for 1 hour or can I have my lunch now . why is this reaction ? please tel me
The FAS 3 Kit is a great combination of 3 antimicrobial drugs and works very well, however it does have a few side effects. The very high dose of Azithromycin is notorious for causing some stomach upset and nausea. In addition the Fluconazole can also make one feel very nauseous especially if its on an empty stomach. This combination is rough, Often times when I have had to prescribe a similar combination I have also given the patient a dose of an anti-nausea medication to help with the side effects. The symptoms will go away but it does take 12 hours or so for it to resolve. Trying sipping on some Ginger Ale and avoid any "fatty" or "greasy" foods for the time being.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
