Can HIV Be Contracted Through Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: I happened to meet a girl who works in that club and she happened to come to my place 2 weeks back and one lead to another girl rubbed her outer vagina over my unprotected penis, not sure if it touched my urethra and i never inserted and she gave an unprotected oral. However the girl insisted that she had no STDs, and showed her tests taken in march. Still i convinced her and took her for HIV RNA test after 1 week and the test results came out negative. Do you advice me to go for a test too as i dont know if she had any recent exposures? Attached her reports for your reference

Brief Answer:
Yes you can take the test. But possibility of HIV unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.

I would suggest you that you must not rely upon the other persons test. As in your case the chances of any STD including HIV infection transmission is very unlikely. I suggest that you can take HIV PCR test after 6-7 weeks or HIV ELISA test after12 weeks post exposure. Both these tests are highly sensitive. Practice safe sex in future too taking barrier methods.

Hope I answered your query
