Can HIV Be Contracted Through Protected Sex?
I have protected sex 6times with a transvestite. 1 time I had sore in my mouth and groin area but I use condoms. Like 2 weeks ago I started having a sore throat and starting this week I have severe night sweat and my partner is having the same night sweat. I also have an ulcer in my mouth and enlarge lymph nodes. I went to see the throat doctor who told me that my throat was very irritated.my partner also have the same enlarge lymph nodes and very bothersome sweating. My body feel very hot when I lay down until I get up as it’s too hot. I took my temp today many time and I was 100/99/98.7 right now. It’s like our body heat is coming from inside. How does hiv ars fever feel like? What are my risks when I always use condoms?
Risk of HIV is nil if condom is used in right manner.

Hi XXXXXXX
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic. I have gone through the details.
The chances of transmission of HIV is nil if the condom is the used in a proper manner.
The symptoms may be due to any simple respiratory infection due to respiratory contact with any person. This has been transmitted to the partner too. This can cause fever and local(neck) lymph node enlargement. In all fevers you feel hot and sweats do occur including ars fevers. It is not specific to HIV.
You can go for HIV and othe stds tests as a routine since you have repeated exposures.
You can get back for any clarification.

Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
There is nothing specific of fevers of HIV (ars).HIV is diagnosed by investigations and not based on the ars symptoms.
Usually it is flu like fever. That it is high (above 100F,continuous/ persist through day & night, associated with body ache ,weakness.Cold or running nose may not be present.Starts usually 2-6 weeks after exposure. It can last for 2 weeks.

I took some acetaminophen and my fever went away for now. Is that normal with ARS fever, can acetaminophen make it go temporary?
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
Fever responds to antipyretic drugs like acetaminophen .So they do reduce temperature temporarily irrespective of the cause of fever including ars.

ME: Fever/Sweat started on 4/18 ended 4/21 evening
Partner: Fever/Sweat started on 4/18 ended 4/23
Now we both have sore throat
we do not have rash or swallon lymph node
took oraquick twice day14 and day17 both negative
I read that after 22days that they test should pick some antibodies if we are having symptoms?
Not conclusive after 22 days.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
Ora quick test detect antibodies to HIV.They can detect as early as 2 weeks post exposure. But antibodies may take 2-6 weeks to be formed ,in few may take 3 months .
So if negative, they are conclusive after 12 weeks or 3 months.22 days it may come negative, and it will not be conclusive.
You can go for HIV 1&2 RNA PCR at this stage to relieve your anxiety. This is 99% sensitive after 10 days exposure.
The symptoms are not specific to HIV. HIV is diagnosed by investigations and not based on symptoms.
You can get back for any clarification.
