Can HIV Be Transmitted Via Touching Public Objects Contaminated With Blood?

Question: I am freaking out! I have open cuts on my hands and earlier at the gas station there was someones blood on the fuel nozzle! I touched it and didnt notice until my husband saw it and then checked the fuel pump and sure enough it was blood. I am so scared pf getting HIV! Should i go be seen by a doctor and get tested? Is this a way of transmission?? Please if you do not know muvh about HIV then please do not answer as i am looking for knowledge on this subject as well as paying you. What are the risks????

There is absolutely no risk of HIV transmission in your case. HIV virus will not survive outside the human body for more than few seconds.
So even if the blood of the person you came in contact with had the virus, the virus will be dead by the time you came in contact with the blood.
There is nothing to be worried about. The risk is 0%. You can relax.
