Question: Can you get HPV if your GYN touches objects in the room (such as the cabinet handle to dispose of speculum) and doesnt change gloves before examinging you?

HPV virus is mainly transmitted through sexual contact from infected genital skin, mucous membranes or bodily fluids including oral/ anal/ vaginal intercourse.
However, if someone is HPV positive with cervical lesion or growth, then virus can be transmitted from cervix to rectum/ anal canal during bi-manual examination if practitioner DOESN'T change his/ her infected gloves.
