Hi
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic.

HSV 1 or 2 (herpes simplex virus) can be transmitted by skin to skin contact, or by kiss or by intercourse. The chances are higher when there are active lesions.
Yes there are possibilities of transmission of herpes to your partner.
Probably you might have transferred it already.

Condoms do help in preventing transmission. But There will be other areas of contact ,through which transmission can occur.

It is better to avoid intercourse when there are active lesions.
Use condoms .
Maintain hygiene.
Avoid as much contact possible, when there are active lesions.

Herpes is known for recurrence.
Antivirals can be taken daily as suppressive therapy to prevent recurrence.

You can test your partner to for herpes antibodies.
Herpes is not a serious disease like HIV to worry too much about it.But only thing is it can recurr. You can discuss with your partner about it and can take decision.

You can get back for any clarification.

Can you comment on the topical herpes treatment that is called ProsurX (www.prosurx.com) ? It uses a nanoparticle delivery system. ProsurX claims to be effective and harmless, but some internet review sites say the nanoparticle delivery is dangerous as the particles can go anywhere in the body.

What herpes treatment(s) do you advise? Antiviral drugs I suppose?

I have been taking a natural remedy called Fenvir for just a short time and it seems to be effective

I don't think you are understanding my question

My question is about the nanoparticle delivery system. One website I was looking at says this is dangerous because the nanoparticles can travel to anywhere in the body.

As i have said earlier,The long term side effects have not been well documented.
The topical drugs can have lesser side effects than other routes of administration.FDA approval gives some relief.
