Can Hydrocortisone And Protopic Be Taken Together?
Question: I have been treating a diagnosed case of eczema of my glans.
I was diagnosed and prescribed Protopic by a dermatologist. I have been using twice daily for over 8 weeks.
I have been making some progress, but its been very slow and frustrating and i am looking to see how i can make faster progress.
Prior to my diagnosis with eczema i was prescribed Hydrocortisone Acetate 1% (Hyderm) as my GP had thought it was inflammation / balantis.
My question is:
1. Can i used the hydrocortisone in combination with Protopic? Are there potential side effects.
2. Is Hydrocortisone Acetate 1% a potent steroid. Do i need to be concerned about skin atrophy in genitals as a result of using this?

Brief Answer:
Use hydrocortisone
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
You can use hydrocortisone along with protopic.
Use protopic at night and hydrocortisone in morning.
It is a mild and least potent steroid.
Don't worry it won't cause atrophy.
Use both the medication for 15 days and then stop hydrocortisone while you can continue with protopic.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
