Can Ibuprofen And Thiocolchicoside Be Taken Together Twice A Day?
Question: Doctor Aashish XXXXXXX said I could have possible nerve compression due to slip disc. He advised me to take Ibuprofen 400mg and thicocicoside 8mg, twice a day for unto 5 days and then get a lumbosacral MRI done if the pain did not subside.
My question is: Should I take the Ibuprofen and thicolcicoside together, twice a day?
Following is my medical problem I had spoken to doctor Aashish XXXXXXX about:
Hi Doctor,
I have been lifting weights for several years now and haven't had any serious injuries.
I was lifting weights earlier today and seem to have twisted my lower back muscle (I heard something twist in my lower back, left of the spine, just above the buttocks). This area had affected me a year ago and I had taken medication to heal it.
It now hurts a lot when I move about and I would like to heal it as soon as I can. Can I take ibuprofen 200 mg to relieve the pain? What other medication or treatment would you recommend?

Yes. Ibuprofen and Thicolchicoside needs to be taken together twice a day after a meal for 5 days.
Also take Tablet Ranitidine 150mg to counteract stomach acidity which can occur after taking these medicines.
Avoid forward bending and lifting weights.
Apply hot water bag to the painful region.
Kindly follow up with me regularly after taking the medication and I shall guide you in the next step that needs to be taken with my advise.

Hi Doctor,
The pain seems to be reducing. I can now bend forward without much pain but I still cannot bend enough to wear my socks for e.g.
I am taking Brufen 400 Mg and Thicolocoside 8 Mg along with application of a hot water bag.
Should I go for an MRI?
Regards,

Brief Answer:
MRI after 15 days of rest if painful. Keep your feet at higher level to tie
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
I'm glad to know that your are improving. Take it easy for a couple of weeks. You need the rest. Avoid bending forwards. Better to put on your shoes while keeping your feet at a higher level like on top of a wooden raise. This way you can have more access and less bending.
You can get an MRI if you have pain radiating to the legs and the back pain not subsiding after 15 days of rest.
I hope I have answered your query.

Hi Doctor,
The pain has reduced a lot and I feel much better now. It does pain a little when I sit for a long time but I can do normal stuff like wearing my socks etc. I can also drive normally even in slow moving traffic.
I stopped taking the painkillers after 4 days because they were upsetting my stomach a little bit. I hope that's alright.
I have a question: Can I start lifting weights from tomorrow (maybe start with light weights and cardio) or should I take another week's rest before starting gym again?
Thanks for the help.

Brief Answer:
Needs minimum 15 days rest
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
I'm glad that you're feeling better.
I would still recommended you bending forward much because this could aggravate the situation. You need a minimum period of rest of 15 days.
Continue applying hot water bag to the painful regions. Pain killers can be stopped. Also do back stretching exercises at the gym with care within your comfort zone.
I hope I have answered your query.
