Can Invokana And Onglyza Be Taken Together?
Question: Is it safe to take invokana 100 mg.and onglyza 5 mg.together
Brief Answer:
it's safe
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
there is no contraindication for the combination. Please take into account though that the combination may yield less benefit than the expected. Adding saxagliptin (onglyza) to canagliflozin (invokana) lowered the glucosylated hemoglobin by 0.28% only. Saxagliptin alone would have lowered the glucosylated hemoglobin a lot more!
There are not enough trials with this combination though, so any opinion cannot be conclusive.
I hope you find my answer helpful!
