Can Marijuana Be Taken Along With Levofloxacin For Pain Management?

explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
No, I would advise against mixing marijuana (Pot) with levofloxacin. Its not a first line treatment in pain disorders. Based on the nature of pain, safer alternatives can be advised.
Kindly answer the following to comment further
What is the site of the pain.
Is it constant or is it related to the levofloxacin use.
For how long has it persisted.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Alleviating the pain in the knee alone is not the answer. The cause for the pain should be determined so that targeted drugs are used.
There is no documented significant drug interaction between levofloxacin and marijuana but taking pot will only mask the pain temporarily.
If the knee is painful, tender, red and swollen then aspiration of the joint should be done for synovial fluid analysis and culture. Septic arthritis must be ruled out.
If the pain is related to degenerative arthritis then diacerine, NSAIDs and chondroitin sulfate can be advised respectively.
An MRI of the knee can be advised to be more certain about the diagnosis, in this regard.
Thanks
