Brief Answer:
About corticosteroids;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome on HCM!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
Methylprednisolone belongs to corticosteroid group of medications which are used commonly to treat allergic reaction.
Very rarely are seen cases who are allergic to corticosteroids. So i would suggest to use it without hesitation or fear for allergic reaction.

A common side effects of corticosteroids is the raise in blood sugar and blood pressure. As you are diagnosed with Diabetes, you should monitor closely the blood sugar and adjust the dose of medications (if you are using any) or start treatment if the blood sugar raises. The same for the blood pressure.

Wish you good health,
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Brief Answer:
Corticosteroids and aneurism;

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
I thought your query was regarding to possible allergy reactions of methylprednisolone!
The contraindications of methylprednisolone is another point of discussion and your treating physician must have rulled them out before prescribing it to you.
It should not be used in fungal infections, tuberculosis or other active infection. But should be used with caution : in gastric ulcer, trombosis, osteporosis, cardiac insufficiency, diabetes ect.
It means that in these conditions you should be under close monitoring by your treating physician.
There are studies that has found a connection between aneurysm rupture by the use of corticosteroids in some cases. It can be considered a contraindication.
Regarding to doxacycline it is true that has many side effects, what is the reason why you are taking it? If the necessity of taking it surpasses the side effects, you should start taking it.
Regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
