Can Methylprednisolone Ingestion Alter MRI Findings?

Question: Will taking Methylprednisolone 4MG pak four days before an MRI, affect the MRI findings as the inflammation or pain may be lessened and same for EMG. I have the meds but am holding off in agony so as not to receive skewed results
Brief Answer:
You can continue steroids.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
You can continue steroids and other medicines as prescribed by your doctor. It is not expected to alter results.
Lumbar radiculopathy is mainly due to degenerative changes in spine and compression of nerve roots.
Nerve root inflammation doesn't respond so quickly,it take time.
MRI is advised mainly to assess degenerative changes in spine and its effect like inter vertebral disc prolapse, facet joints, neural and spinal canal assessment etc.
In short, don't worry about medicines. It will not alter results.
