Can Misoprostol Induce Withdrawal Bleeding?
Question: Hi, have been trying to conceive but unfortunately my first pregnancy eneded in a miscarriage in may. My quiestion is, can I use misopristol to induce a period and take clomid on day 3 of the same cycle of will misopristol have an effect on clomid?

Hi , greetings.
Misoprostol is not used to induce withdrawal bleeding or induce regular menstrual bleeding.
It is used to dilate the cervix for uterine products to be aborted in threatened abortion and after Mifepristone in induced abortion.
Now, if you are not having regular periods, consult a gynaecologist and find out the reasons. If it is hormonal especially PCOD then you will need medicines to induce ovulation like Clomifene which can be taken from 2nd or 3rd day.
In these cases progesterone is used like Medroxy progesterone acetate for 5 to 10 days to induce bleeding and clomifene can be taken after 2 days. That will be safe. But we need to confirm the cause and indication for using medroxy progesterone.
