Can Norvasc Cause Swollen Ankles?
Question: Been taking Norvasc for the last year for hypertension. Seemed to be okay on it. Now having swollen ankles of both feet and numbness of the toes. Could it be the Norvasc. I'm also taking Rythmol for a. fib. Could that be caused by it?
Brief Answer:
Swollen ankles is a side effect of Norvasc
Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.
Swollen ankles is a side effect of Norvasc. As long as this is minute and doesn’t cause any other symptoms, I will suggest that you monitor only. Reducing salt intake and raising legs each time you sit. Also, avoid standing upright for long hours unless very necessary.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
